The peacock is a popular motif in Persian designs. In ancient Persian culture, the peacock is known as a bird which can recognize the evil and doesn't let evil and bad energies come inside the building which has the bird design at its entrance.
In Persian literature, the peacock in poems is respectfully reminded as a pretty and holy bird. They know peacock as a symbol of paradise, sun ,kingdom (in Sasanian textiles) and life.
